Adventure Riding in South America Episode 14
Huascaran National Park doesn’t give up its alpine lakes lightly. I’d read the warnings about brutal hikes over 4000 metres, but wanted to know if there was truth behind the hype. So I rode the Tenere up into the Andes and visited three of the most famous lakes to find out for myself. From the turquoise waters of Laguna Paron, to the grueling ascent to Laguna 69, and the scramble to the breathtaking Laguna Churup, I rate every ride and every hike. This is adventure motorcycle riding meets high-altitude trekking amongst the spectacular glacial lakes of the Cordillera Blanca. Which one earned the title of Huascaran’s toughest climb?
