Visiting the Freuds’, Part I, Austria
•
During the depths of my midlife crisis, a mate suggested I give psychoanalysis a try. Now this particular friend knows a lot about pretty much everything, and feeling I had nothing to lose, I took his advice.

Bucket List
•
When I first heard the term ‘bucket list’ I thought it was funny; a list of things you want to do before you sink the boot into the proverbial water conveyance. However nowadays I don’t find it funny anymore. In fact, I’ve started to hate it.

‘Take away this ball and chain…’
•
Mike Ness of Social Distortion wrote ‘Ball and Chain’ in 1987, and has described the song as a ‘hard luck story’. For Ness, his ‘ball and chain’ was addition; mine is living in the past.

Choose Your Own Adventure
•
When I was in primary school, me and my mates loved the Choose Your Own Adventure books. At the end of each chapter, you had to make a choice, and your story would head off in one of two different directions. Since my midlife crisis started, I have often found myself wondering ‘How the hell…
