Ksar Ghilane to Douz in a Straight-ish Line, Tunisia

My map showed a dotted line directly linking Ksar Ghilane to Douz, crossing a corner of the Tunisian Sahara. I couldn’t find anything online about the condition of the track, so thought I’d just have to go and find out for myself. After a brief stop in Ksar Ghilane to top up on water, I punched the coordinates for Douz into my GPS, fired up the Tenere, found what I thought was the track, and headed off into the desert.
