    On 8th November 1943, B-17 42-5769 ‘Cotton Eyed Joe II’ ditched in the sea 100 metres off the beach in front of what is now Ajaccio Napoleon Bonaparte Airport, Corsica. The wreck lies in 9 metres of water.
