Exploring Tambopata National Reserve, Peru

Adventure Riding in South America Episode 5

Crossing international borders can be problematic, especially when you can’t find passport control and customs. I had a hiccup at the border whilst trying to enter Peru from Brazil, and then got hit by a wild storm on the way to Puerto Maldonado. After a soggy ride I arrived at the town, and after a breather joined a tour to Tambopata National Reserve. There is no road access to the Reserve, so I swapped the Tenere for a boat and discovered macaws, caimans, tarantulas, capybaras, and even a sloth!
